EARLY YEARS, CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE LEVEL 2 AWARD IN EMPLOYMENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND RIGHTS IN HEALTH, SOCIAL CARE OR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE’S SETTINGS (QCF)
Learners wishing to develop knowledge and understanding of the statutory responsibilities and rights of employees and employers within own area of work agreed ways of working that protect own relationship with employer, how own role fits within the wider context of the sector, career pathways available within own and related sectors.
LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE FOR THE CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE’S WORKFORCE (QCF)
The qualification is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age. It is relevant to a wide range of job roles in early years and social care settings and may be suitable for you if you wish to enter employment or are working in a supervised role in the Children and Young People’s Workforce in England.
LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA FOR THE CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE’S WORKFORCE (QCF)
The qualification is relevant to a wide range of job roles in early years and social care settings.
It is most likely that you will be employed in a suitable job role but if you are not you will need access to suitable tasks or be volunteering or on a practical placement as workplace assessment of knowledge and skills is required. There are no specific entry requirements however you should have a
minimum of Level two in literacy and numeracy or equivalent. You need to be at least 16 years of age to do this qualification.
LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA FOR THE CHILDREN'S WORKFORCE (EARLY YEARS EDUCATOR) (RQF)
The qualification prepares learners for employment as Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. It develops the knowledge and skills required to work with children from birth to 5 years
together with an understanding of the expected development of children aged 5 to 7 years. The qualification also provides opportunities for the confirmation of competence for learners working towards Early Years Educator status.
LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA IN LEADERSHIP FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE AND
CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE'S SERVICES (ENGLAND) (QCF)
The purpose of the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (England) (QCF) is to develop the knowledge and skills required by managers and leaders in the sector. Learners will already be employed in the sector. Achieving the qualification should enable learners to innovate and respond to a changing environment and to meet challenges and opportunities within the sector.
To increase knowledge and awareness of safeguarding children, acknowledging the roles and responsibilities of staff and to be informed about the different forms of child maltreatment fabricated and induced illnesses; child trafficking, and radicalisation. To be informed how common maltreatment is and the impact on a child and be aware of the factors that can have an impact on the well-being of a child.
This course aims to increase participants’ understanding of some of the causes of young children’s challenging behavior and of some of the strategies which may be effective in positively managing unwanted behaviors.
This course will give practitioners clear understanding of what Autism is and what are appropriate strategies for dealing with the traits and behaviors of children on the Autism Spectrum
AN INTRODUCTION TO CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
This course is for all practitioners who want to learn more about the types of chidlren with additional needs who might attend our settings, either now or in the future.
PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID
This course covers injury and illness common within childcare and prepares childcare professionals to be able to deal with emergency first aid situations. Certification is defendant on successful continuous assessment of the dependent. Upon successful completion of the course, the certificate is valid for three years.
This course enables practitioners to understand the importance of food safety and identify sources of contamination. It also covers handling of high risk food stuffs, time and temperature control, correct fridge management and cleaning and disinfection methods.
BABIES AND TODDLERS IN THE EYFS
This course will help practitioners who work with babies and toddlers to develop their knowledge of all areas of learning for babies and toddlers and give practical ideas for supporting their development. -To increase knowledge of what the EYFS says about babies and toddlers and how practitioners should support these very young children in the setting.
